Premera Blue Cross, a licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, is familiar choice for Medicare supplements in Washington. Premera is licensed in Alaska and all counties in Washington state except Clark County. Premera is a premier provider of insurance coverage for Washington state residents. Many seniors have had direct experience with Premera Blue Cross coverage through their employer. The company has recently re-entered the senior market, offering very competitive Plan F options.

Four Medigap Plans Offered

Premera features Plan A for an Automatic Funds Transfer (or AFT) rate of $113 a month and a paper billing rate of $118 a month. The lowest-priced Plan F option in the state is offered by Premera for an AFT rate of $142 per month and a paper statement rate of $147. Premera sells high-deductible Medigap Plan F for monthly rates of $58 (AFT) and $63 (paper). A $2,000 deductible must be met before coverage kicks in on this policy. Finally, Medicare Supplement Plan N is available for $111 if transferring funds automatically and $116 if paying with paper statements.
