For all beneficiaries of original Medicare, private insurance carriers in California are authorized by the government to sell Medicare supplement plans, also called Medigap plans, to help people fill in the holes of their coverage. Companies providing these plans in California include Liberty Life, Humana, UnitedHealthcare (AARP), and Sentinel Life. There are 10 government-approved supplement plans, from the basic Plan A to the comprehensive Plan F.
